Student for Life

Some of you may have started school last week, some may be starting school this week.  Lots of emotions come with the first day back: excited, nervous, bored, anxious. Will your best friend be in your class(es)? Will your teacher be cool? Will you be slammed with homework from day one?

Use these experiences as topics for writing.  You can journal your true feelings, of course, or use some of your classmates as fictional characters in a made up school.  What is the craziest thing that could happen there?

Play “What If”

What if when you went to school tomorrow you find out you’ve been accidentally moved up two grades?

What if due to a shortage of substitutes, your crazy aunt with the tattoos and piercings is your new teacher?

What if your bus brought you to the wrong school?
