Wacky Wednesdays ARE BACK!!

December 10, 2008 at 4:37 am

mr_six_old_guy_lgWell, young writers, now that NaNoWriMo is o-v-e-r, it’s back to my writing prompts to get those cramped fingers moving on your keyboard again.

  1. Imagine your character and his/her pet switch places! (Think about the movie “Shaggy Dog.”) What absurd scenes could you write?
  2. Tickle Town: Use this silly town as a setting, but there’s a catch: tickles are not for giggles, they are serious business: tickles are given in exchange for food and services.
  3. Create a chicken language, where the adults can only finish their sentences with “Bawk! Bawk!”
  4. Think of the most annoying habit you know and give it to your character. But, in this story, the annoying habit makes your character popular and lovable!
  5. TV Time:   I rarely advocate TV watching, but for this exercise: turn your tube on a foreign language channel: observe the scenery, the characters and the pitch of their voices. Now write their story!

Have a blast and please share some of your silly story ideas here!
